PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer network risk calculating method allowing adequate risk evaluation to the network and an insurance providing method using it.;SOLUTION: Management information base(MIB) information inside the computer network is obtained, transition of the obtained MIB information is recorded, information about a shut-down possibility of a computer apparatus or a circuit is extracted from the recorded MIB information transition information, ability of the network is evaluated, a record of a network maintenance and inspections conditions is inputted, a level of maintenance management is evaluated from this record, and a value-at-risk in the shut-down of the apparatus or the circuit is calculated from the network ability evaluation and the maintenance and management level evaluation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
