PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which the number and species of microbes included in a specimen are rapidly and easily obtained by a technical means applying the nucleic acid determination.;SOLUTION: The number of the microbes in the unknown specimen is estimated by drawing a calibration curve in a relational figure of the number of the microbes, and, a Ct value(a cycle threshold value) defined as the cycle number reaching a prescribed fluorescent intensity in the relation between the cycle number of a PCR determined in real time and the fluorescent intensity, previously setting a function (a regression formula) obtained from the calibration curve for already-known microbes, and utilizing the function, the species is estimated by comparing the difference and characteristic of the temperature for dissociating two-stranded nucleic acid derived from the microbe or an amplified product thereof to provide the single stranded one by heating, with those of the already-known microbes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
