PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a bunching of a group of elevator cars without changing an allotting of calling of a departure management system.;SOLUTION: A position and a direction (0-27) of respective elevator cars (A-D) of a group of cars are recorded with a time and a traffic rate of a group of elevators so as to provide a data stream. In order to remove symmetry, a canonical expression of a position and a direction data is rewritten and in order to obtain a graph of entropy making a time as a function, an entropy presumption algorithm is used. Subsequently, this graph is converted to entropy making the traffic rate as a function. A threshold value of the traffic rate is determined and if the newest rate is higher than the threshold value during a usual operation, a parameter of a group of elevators is changed so as to increase a traffic handling capability of the group. If the newest traffic rate is lower than the threshold value, the parameter is changed so as to reduce the traffic handling capability of the group.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
