PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layered soil type water cleaning apparatus is suitable for river water. SOLUTION: The laminated soil river water cleaning device is comprised of a laminated soil layer 3, in which a permeable granular layer 31 and a soil containing layer 34 having a soil layer 32 and a permeability part 33 arranged therein alternately in horizontal direction are laminated alternately and the soil layer 32 is arranged in pile in vertical direction between two neighboring soil layers 32 of the soil containing layer 34 which is arranged on and under the soil layer 32, a water diffusing device 81 arranged in the space distance from the upper face of the laminated soil layer 3 and a water collection device 6 that collects water which is diffused from the water diffusing device 81 and is permeated through the laminated soil layer 3. It is preferable that the laminated soil layer 3 is provided with an aeration device. It is preferable that the permeable granular material is a zeolite having a particle size of 1 to 6 mm.
