PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a rare earth-activated alkaline earth metal fluoride iodide phosphorescent substance, capable of improving erasing characteristics and reliefing characteristics of the highly accelerated phosphorescent material, to provide a radiological image conversion panel by using the same, and to provide a photographing method for the radiological image.;SOLUTION: This method for producing the rare earth-activated alkaline earth metal fluoride iodide accelerated phosphorescent substance expressed by the general formula (1): Ba1-xM2xFI:aM1, bLn, cO (M2 is Be or the like; M1 is Li or the like; Ln is Eu or the like; 0≤x≤0.5; 0≤a≤0.05; 0b≤0.2; and 0≤c≤0.1) is carried out as follows; an aqueous inorganic fluoride solution having a concentration of ≥5 mol/L is added to an aqueous BaI2 solution having a concentration of ≥2.5 mol/L within elapsing of a time of 120-600 min while the BaI2 solution is kept at a temperature of 90-99°C; an alkali metal halide is added to the above mixture and then the resulted mixture is aged for 180-600 min so that a precipitate of accelerated phosphorescent precursory crystals is obtained; the precipitate is separated from the aqueous solution; and the separated precipitate is calcined.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
