PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for embedding watermark information resistant to a compressing operation or defrosting operation to a moving image, and easily detectable in any stage in the moving image, and a method for easily detecting the watermark information embedded in the moving image. SOLUTION: This watermark information embedding system 100 is constituted of a watermark information storing means 1, a moving image storing means 2 including a non-compressed moving image file storing means 21 and a compressed moving image file storing means 22, a watermark information embedment operating means 4 connected to the output of the watermark information storing means 1, a moving image information framing means 3 to which the output of the watermark information embedment operating means 4 and the output of the moving image storing means 2 are connected, a defrosting means 3 for defrosting the compressed moving image file storing means 22 of the moving image storing means 2, and a watermark information embedded moving image information storing means 7 for storing the moving image in which the watermark information is embedded.
