PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article or service as a product while securely avoiding the loss of a cost bearer as to a system and a method for settling the paid money for the article or service.;SOLUTION: This system is provided with a database 4 which stores plan information on the production of the article or service, a calculating means 5 which calculates the minimum sale quantity making it possible to collect the cost when the article or service is provided as a product, a measuring means 7 which measures the production quantity desired by users for the plan information, a discrimination information storage means 6 which stores discrimination information on the users, and a settling means 9 which settles the paid money when the article or service is provided as the product. When the production quantity desired by the measuring means 7 for the article or service exceeds the minimum sale quantity, it is decided that the article or service is provided as the product and at the same time, the settling means 9 settles the paid money according to the discrimination information on a user showing the intention to buy.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
