METHOD FOR SUPPRESSING NOISE IN IMAGE SIGNAL, AND IMAGE SIGNAL PROCESSOR USING THE NOISE-SUPPRESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing noise where noise components can be reduced, even when a motion is detected between frames and an image signal processor using the noise suppressing method.;SOLUTION: Absolute value of the difference between the image signal of the previous frame given from a frame memory 1 and the image signal of the present frame is obtained through a subtracting circuit 4 and an absolute value arithmetic circuit 6. Furthermore, the absolute value of difference between the image signal of the frame previous to the previous frame given from a frame memory 2, and the image signal of the previous frame is obtained through a subtracting circuit 5 and an absolute value arithmetic circuit 7. Based on the degree of motion obtained by adding the absolute values of the differences between the image signals at an adding circuit 8, gain is set by a gain-setting circuit 9. The output of the subtracting circuit 4 is multiplied by the set gain to obtain a noise component.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
