PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treated metallic sheet having excellent press galling resistance and continuous sliding friction resistance, and a water-base organic/inorganic composite coating material which makes it possible to obtain this surface treated metallic sheet as well as a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: An aqueous organic/inorganic composite film is formed by applying the water-base organic/inorganic composite coating material which contains a lubricant (A) composed of a polyolefin wax dispersion of a molecular weight 6,000 to 15,000 and a lubricant (B) composed of a polyolefin wax dispersion of a molecular weight 1,000 to 5,000, colloidal silica of 5 to 35 mass% in terms of a solid content and water in one or both of an aqueous resin and a silicate compound to the upper layer of a plated material sheet at 0.3 to 5.0 g/m2 in terms of dry mass, then baking the coating material.
