PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a plant of the genus Pyrus by using a microsatellite DNA since a plant of the genus Pyrus requires a period of several or more years up to flowering and seed setting and the identification of variety and individual needs a long period of time, consequently a plant of the genus Pyrus has had a problem in the identification of variety and breeding.;SOLUTION: This method is a method for identifying a plant of the genus Pyrus and is characterized by examining whether or not a microsatellite DNA containing specific five kinds of base sequences derived from a pear or a microsatellite DNA containing a base sequence in which one or more bases are substituted, deleted, inserted or added in the specific base sequences and which has at least 80% homology to the specific base sequences exists in the genome DNA of the plant of the genus Pyrus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
