BEARING STRUCTURE FOR WATER SUPPLYING PUMP OF HIGH- SPEED, MULTI-STAGE BOILER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing structure for boiler water supplying pump capable of simplifying its thrust bearing, seal device and balance mechanism, using only water lubrication instead of oil lubrication, and also simplifying the configuration around the pump.;SOLUTION: One bearing part is furnished with a supporting box 10 and a seal mechanism 3 and water lubrication carbon bearing 1 are installed whereto water 12 is supplied to make a seal and flow into the bearing and the pump. Another bearing part is furnished with thrust bearing 4, and a high pressure water at the final stage of the pump is fed via passages 6 and 7 and a cavity 8 to another cavity 9, and further to a water lubrication carbon bearing 2, and is discharged from an external piping to return to the inlet. The thrust force F of a shaft 23 is received by the cavity 9, and thrust bearing 4 has balance mechanism which serves also for the conventional thrust bearing. A lid 5 is installed at the shaft end, which eliminates necessity for provision of any seal mechanism on the other side. This allows simplification of the thrust bearing, journal bearing, and seal mechanism, and lubrication is accomplished only with water.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
