PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate high quality monotone image data which enable contrast display without increasing a signal processing scale and a device scale. SOLUTION: A matrix calculation unit 21 calculates monotone image data from matrix data whose integrated factors are calculated according to factors for mixing a plurality of inputted color component data and color correction factors for correcting color distortions in a generating process of the monotone image data, and the plurality of inputted color component data. In the matrix calculation, the product of a color distortion correcting matrix and a matrix of elements of the monotone image is calculated by using a reprogrammable look-up table 21a (for instance, a RAM), or a plurality of selectable look-up tables 21a and the color correction parameter of the product is obtained by the color matrix calculation.
