PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base fabric for a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, which is excellent in transverse tearability although a cross laminated nonwoven fabric is used as a base fabric having sufficient strength even if it is thin.;SOLUTION: A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape 10 consists of a base fabric 12 and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 4. The base fabric 12 has a cross laminated nonwoven fabric 11 made by laminating a longitudinal base material 1 and a transverse base material 2, and a synthetic resin layer 3 formed on the side of the longitudinal base material 1 and having a thickness of 20 μm or greater. The longitudinal base material 1 and the transverse base material 2 are each a stretched unidirectional nonwoven fabric wherein filaments protected by a thermoplastic resin are unidirectionally arranged and stretched, and they are laminated in such a manner that the directions of arrangement of the filaments thereof are crossed at a right angle.
