PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly reduce the construction cost of a leachate treatment apparatus and to enable landfill work to be started earlier.;SOLUTION: A water treatment means for cleaning leachate at a waste landfill site is installed in the inside of and at the upper part of a caisson 1 for forming a revetment or a quay, thus giving a leachate treatment caisson. The inside of the caisson 1 is divided, along the longitudinal direction, into a plurality of treatment vessels including a first treatment vessel 2 having a pretreatment means for removing oily components, contaminants, mud, etc., from leachate; a second treatment vessel 3 having a means for removing heavy metals and calcium; and a third treatment vessel 4 having a means for removing bacteria.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
