PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the distribution situation of seaweed bed for marine algae and the covering degree/kind of marine algae in the seaweed bed for marine algae directly and in a wide area while reducing a danger for human to a minimum.;SOLUTION: This method for researching a seaweed bed for marine algae is characterized in that the covering degree of marine algae in the seaweed bed for a marine algae is measured by a photograph from above the marine algae in a wide angle of view by an underwater traveling video system capable of taking a picture in water and the marine algae are photographed in the directions except the upward direction of the marine algae to judge the kind of marine algae.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
