PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device, an image output device, an image input/output device, an image data preserving method, an image data output method and a storage medium by which the reliability of data can be improved by preventing image file data in a memory cared from being fraudulently altered or unauthorizedly utilized by a third person.;SOLUTION: When preserving the image file data on a memory card 275, a controller 110 preserves the images file data on the memory card 275 after enciphering them while using the public key of a public key cipher system and when outputting the image file data, which are enciphered by using the public key of the public key cipher system, on the memory card 275, the image file data arte deciphered by using the secret key of the public key cipher system to be paired with the public key of the public key cipher system and control for discriminating the enciphered data is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
