PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform preprocessing for quickening the convergence of calculation in the repetition of a simultaneous linear equation, with which a coefficient matrix is not M matrix.;SOLUTION: At each of levels of multilevel incomplete block decomposition for the coefficient matrix, a set F of parameter numbers of parameters to be removed is determined so that a block matrix composed of the coefficients of these parameters can become diagonally preferential. Then, an approximate inverse matrix MFF-1 of the block matrix is obtained by repeated calculation and the number of non-zero elements in a coefficient matrix MC at coarse level is reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
