NEW METHOD FOR PRODUCING EPOXY COMPOUND, AND EPOXY RESIN COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE EPOXY COMPOUND PRODUCED BY THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an epoxy compound having less chlorine contents, less colored, improved heat resistance, improved adhesivity, improved mechanical strengths, improved toughness, usable where corrosion and bad appearances become problems, and hardly produces such waste water as containing nitrogen compounds and sulfur compounds, and the method which comprises glycidyl-etherizing a compound containing cyclohexanol groups.;SOLUTION: This method for producing the epoxy compound, contains a process for glycidyletherizing the secondary hydroxyl groups of the compound containing the cyclohexanol groups with epichlorohydrin and an alkali metal hydroxide in the presence of a tertiary alcohol such as t-butanol and, if necessary, a phase transfer catalyst. The method for producing the perfect glycidyl ether compound contains the same process using the compound whose cyclohexanol groups are imperfectly glycidyletherized.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
