ACTIVE PHASE ARRAY BASE STATION/REPEATER ANTENNA SYSTEM UTILIZING DISTRIBUTION LOW POWER AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station antenna system of novel form, that can enhance deterioration in the quality of two-way forward/backward communication service due to a feeder cable from a base station to an antenna tower, that cannot be avoided by a conventional space diversity mobile communication base station and repeater antenna system. SOLUTION: This base station antenna system includes a multiple-beam forming means, a direction adjustment beam switching means that selects a prescribed beam port of the multiple-beam forming means and transmits an input signal to the selected beam port, an array low-power amplifier means that applies low-power amplification to many signals received from many array ports of the multiple-beam forming means, and an array radiation means that emits the many signals received from the array low-power amplifier means and applies spatial power combining to the many emitted signals in-phase, so that the effective emission power fully covers cells in the direction adjusted by the switching means.
