PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hygroscopic covered elastic yarn for knitting stocking products or shorts products free from stuffiness and static electricity and having warmly wearing functionality and thin fashionability.;SOLUTION: This hygroscopic double-covered elastic yarn is obtained by winding an extended elastic yarn as the core yarn with a synthetic fiber filament ≤30 denier in fineness as the under winding and a natural or regenerated fiber single spun yarn ≥50 count in fineness as the upper winding in the direction of untwisting the single spun yarn with the residual number of twists (t) within the range shown by the following formula: 30B^1/2≤t≤80B^1/2 (wherein, B is the cotton count of the single spun yarn; and t is the residual number of twists (turns/m) of the upper winding covering single spun yarn in a winding condition).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
