PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for an aluminum or an aluminum alloy material by which corrosion resistance equal to or above that of chromate treatment can be imparted thereto by using a treatment solution which does not contain chromium, its adhesion to a coating film can be improved, and the brightness of aluminum can sufficiently be maintained, and to provide the aluminum or the aluminum alloy material treated by the treatment method and has metallic luster on the surface.;SOLUTION: The treatment method for an aluminum or an aluminum alloy material contains a stage (1) where an aluminum material or an aluminum alloy material is treated with acidic aqueous solution of pH 0.6 to 2.0 containing ferric ions of 0.1 to 0.4 g/L and sulfuric ions; a stage (2) where the base material is treated with an acidic chemical conversion treatment agent of pH 1.5 to 4.0 containing zirconium ions or titanium ions of 0.01 to 0.125 g/L, phosphoric ions of 0.01 to 1.0 g/L and fluorine ions of 0.01 to 0.5 g/L; a stage (3) where the base material is treated with a solution containing an epoxy resin; and a stage (4) where the base material is coated with powder.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
