PHENYLENE-BASED POLYMER AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phenylene-based polymer.;SOLUTION: A cyclic conjugated diene polymer having molecule-structuring units, each of them is derived from one or at least two kinds of monomers selected from a cyclic conjugated diene monomer having a polar group, is obtained. A basic structure of the molecule-structuring unit for the polymer contains, preferably, a 5-8 members cycloalkene ring. The cyclic conjugated monomer is polymerized, preferably, in the presence of a Ni-based catalyst or the like in a non-polar solvent containing a basic compound or in an aromatic halogen solvent. The polymerization using the Ni-based catalyst enables the product to be brought into a highly crystallized polymer, providing a para- phenylene polymer by removing its substituents.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
