PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic water refilling unit capable of being mounted on an existing manual water refilling type hot water heating device through after-mounting at any time and capable of performing automatic water refilling through after-mounting and to provide a method for controlling water refilling using the automatic water refilling unit.;SOLUTION: Automatic water refilling of circulation water in a circulation circuit 4 is practicable by mounting an automatic water refilling unit 8 on a manual water supply type hot water heating device 1. A cap 52 to openably close a manual water refilling port 51 of a tank 5 is removed and a connection port 84 on the downstream side of a supply water passage 81 of the automatic water refilling unit is connected to the manual water refilling port. A water refilling solenoid valve 82 is located in the supply water passage and a connection port 83 on the upper stream side is connected as a supply water source to city water service piping. By connecting a control signal line 85 to the water refilling solenoid valve to a controller 7 of a hot water heating device, mounting of the automatic water refilling unit is detected and opening and closing of the refilling solenoid valve are controlled through detection of mounting by a previously built-in automatic water refilling control part based on water level detection information from a low level electrode 56 and a high water level electrode 55.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
