PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly accurate analysis of boron in iron and steel, capable of easily and speedily dissolving boron in an iron and steel sample, separating and removing matrix iron and steel components which obstruct analysis of boron, and supplying the boron for inductively-coupled plasma emission spectroscopic analysis or inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometric analysis. SOLUTION: In the method for highly accurate analysis of boron in iron and steel, an iron and steel sample is sealed in a heat-proof, pressure-proof, and acid-proof sample container together with a solution containing hydrofluoric acid. After dissolving boron contained in the iron and steel sample by heating it with microwaves, the sample solution is passed through an ion-exchange resin column to previously separate iron, which a matrix component to obstruct the analysis of a trace amount of components. The solution which is obtained by eluting the boron adsorbed in the ion-exchange column by nitric acid is subjected to inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopic analysis or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometric analysis.
