PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To disassemble and reassemble an input shaft having an input spline, a pinion and an input gear, while keeping a speed-reducing reversing gear installed on a hull, and to enhance the disassembling and reassembling properties thereof.;SOLUTION: An output shaft 5 having a large output gear 4, the input gear 15 having the input spline 15a, and a support shaft 16 having an intermediate gear 26 for engagement with the input gear 15 are arranged parallel to one another, with the input spline 15a splined to an input shaft coupling 32. The input shaft 15 and the support shaft 16 have respective pinions 18 and 19 for engagement with the large output gear 4. The input shaft 15 is insertable and removable from a rear opening, and the axial dimensions of the input spline 15a, the pinion 18 and the input gear 25 are set so that after the input gear 25 is disengaged during the process of removing the input shaft 15, the pinion 18 is disengaged and finally the input spline 15a is disengaged.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
