PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition technology which can easily check whether or not the recognition result of a numeral is correct and whether or not a wrong numeral is entered when a document is prepared.;SOLUTION: A digital copying machine has an OCR part 31 which recognizes a character string included in a display area extracted from an image, a spread sheet computation part 34 which computes numerical value data generated by converting a character string of numerals according to a computation expression defined according to the specific character string, and a proving part 35 which compares the computed value of the spread sheet computation part with numerical value data to be proven.
