PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mass-produce a structural material with lightweight having a high strength and ductility, which is used for structural members of automobile such as chassis parts, etc., building industry and mechanical engineering.;SOLUTION: The material contains lightweight fine particles (specifically mineral-based foamed fine particles) and an organic binder, where the volume percentage of lightweight fine particles is at least 50% and the components are bonded in a structurally dense state. The method comprises a process to introduce lightweight fine particles into a mold of product, optionally that to heat raw particles of lightweight fine particles, that to introduce a binder into the mold filled with lightweight fine granular bulk material, and that to solidify the binder.
