PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the conventional preamble pattern identification method using correlation of amplitude of received signals, that presented difficulty in identification of a preamble by threshold discrimination, because the calculated correlation is affected due to the fluctuation in the amplitude of the received signal, the probability of escaped identification and the probability of mis-identification apt to be conflicting with each other and it is difficult to set a threshold to bring both the probabilities to zero.;SOLUTION: Complex multiplication between a base band signal subjected to oversampling for N times (N is a natural number) per symbol period and a complex conjugate value of a base band signal of one preceding symbol period is conducted for a plurality of samples, the correlation between the real number part and the imaginary number part of the complex product is calculated, and when the correlation is a preset threshold or lower, it is decided that the preamble signal is in existence.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
