OPTICAL MICROSCOPE FOR VICKERS HARDNESS TEST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical microscope for a Vickers hardness test which does not require a high degree of technology and many parts, etc., does not require a cost and has measuring lines.;SOLUTION: A liquid crystal module 11 to trigger the two measuring lines 12 to emit light which are parallel and are freely changeable in the spacing therebetween is disposed between an image forming plane 10 which forms an enlarged image by an objective lens 5 and an eyepiece 9. The enlarged image by the objective lens of a dent (recess) 16 of an approximately square shape formed by pressing a indenter 3 of a Vickers hardness testing machine 1 to a sample 15 is formed on the image forming plane and the measuring lines 12 by the liquid crystal module 11 are aligned to opposite vertexes 16a and 16c of this image. The spacing between the measuring lines 12 is changeable by the operation of a switch 13 and the measurement of the length of the opposite lines of the dent 16 is made possible by aligning the measuring lines 12 to the vertexes 16a and 16c.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
