PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power system management system in which transient stability restriction is incorporated and which utilizes optimum power flow calculation. SOLUTION: This transmittable capacity calculation system for a power system calculates an optimum power flow for an assumed fault in the power system and calculates the transmittable capacity of the power system in accordance with the calculated optimum power flow value. The system has an optimum power flow calculation processor 120 which calculates an electrical output and a mechanical output of a generator including a generator phase angle defined by a time function, under the condition that the generator phase angle does not exceed a predetermined value to obtain data concerning the initial phase angle and maximum power value of the generator.
