Hydrophobic polymer fibre, which has a cationally charged coating on it, in which the coating includes an outsourced ionic polymer, such as a functional comepichloride polyamine or a functionalized comepichloroethylene polyamide-amine, which had a heat cross-bonded cross-bond. This provision also provides a fibrous filter, which includes hydrophobic depolymer fibres,which have the previously loaded formanidic coating on it. The present invention also provided a method of preparation of a fibrous filter. The method involves the approval of a fibre filter comprising hydrophobic polymer fibers; the treatment of the fibrous filter with an aqueous solution of a functional cation polymer, which has a heat cross-linkage under sufficient conditions to coat,substantially, the fibres with the ofunctised cation polymer, where the solution includes the ofunctised cation polymer, a poly(vinyl alcohol),a polar solvent for opoli(vinyl alcohol),and water; and the treatment of the fibrarevestide filter resulting in heat at a temperature and for a sufficient time to create the cross-linkage of the hydrocarbon ionic polymer present in hydrophobic polymer fibres.
