COMBINED THERAPY WITH INHIBITOR ANGIOTENZIN-CONVERTING ENZYME AND EPOXYSTROID ANTAGONIST ALDOSTERONE FOR THE TREATMENT OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Combinations of an ACE inhibitor and an epoxysteroid antagonist of aldosterone receptors for use in the treatment of circulatory disorders are described. Of particular interest are agents that use epoxteroid-type aldosterone receptor antagonists, such as eplerenone, in combination with an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. Such a combination therapy should be particularly useful for treating congestive heart failure, while at the same time lacking the side effects induced by an aldosterone antagonist, such as hyperkalemia, or reducing these side effects.
