The method for installing a screen in the ground involves digging a groove (1) in the soil and the introduction of a bentonite-water mixture or bentonite-cement-water mixture into the groove. Foil panels (2,4) are then inserted into the mixture in the groove and connected to each other by lock parts (3) on their vertical side edges. The last panel (2) fitted in the ground on its upper edge close to the lock part (14) is secured by a clamp (6) suspended on a lifting crane. The clamp enables an upwardly directed force to be exerted on the panel. This prevents thee panel being displaced or folded over. The clamp is suspended on a cable (7) connected to the crane and the introductory component (5) is also suspended on a cable (8) connected to the crane.
