The method for packing powder-form or granular material, particularly in a bag with a capacity of 50 kg to 4000 kg, involves the bag having a permeability to water vapor from 0.1 to 10 g/m2/day and a permeability to oxygen of 0.05 to 30 cc/m2/day. In order to pack the material in a body (10) of the bag, firstly an outlet pipe (12) from the body is closed by a clamp. Material is fed then into the bag body via an inlet pipe, the inlet of the pipe being sealed after completion of filling. The bag body consists of an inner bag and an outer bag. The inner bag consists at least of a vapor-tight, light-tight, anti-oxidising and anti-static layer and the outer bag is of a weight-supporting, woven fiber material.
