The device comprises a hanging element with its tip at the bottom, or a partially spherical pear or cone-shaped body (1). The incoming liquid falls by gravity onto a slightly curved or corrugated upper surface, which guides the liquid radially outwards in an essentially horizontal direction, and then the liquid is made to overflow down converging surfaces (6) to the tip (7) of the body, where it forma a powerful jet (8) falling onto the surface (9) of a liquid, where it generates a strong turbulence.
