The device (1) is for screening clothing against contamination with head lice and similar and comprises a hook part (2) on which a clothing item can be hung. Connected to the hook part is a shaft (2') on which is placed a covering (3) for the clothing item. The device incorporates a ridge (4), on which the covering is borne. The covering comprises a support device (7) supported by the ridge. Devices (6) are also incorporated for the suspensionn of the device (1). The covering comprises a breathing material, provided with through apertures, which prevent the passage of head lice. The covering is open on the under side, in order to promote air circulation and moisture removal.
