The system (1) for positioning an upright component has positioning devices comprising an elongated tension unit clamp able between a floor (3) and a ceiling (4) and coupling components (6,7A,7B,7C) for coupling the upright component. The tension unit comprises a number of telescopically displaceable components (8,9) with spring devices effective between the displaceable components. The tension unit, at least at one outer end, is provided with a locating surface for the floor or ceiling. A U-shaped stirrup tensions a wire along the upright component and has a short leg and a long leg for fixture of the wire, so that the long leg extends between the upright component and the tension device.
