PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate longitudinal lines on a display screen caused by the fact that charging and discharging noise generated by the switching of a sampling switch is sampled when sampling pulses are overlapped in front and back stages.;SOLUTION: In a clock driving type horizontal driving circuit 17 of an active matrix type display device of a point sequential driving system, a clock generating circuit 18 generates clocks DCK and DCKX having the same period with respect to horizontal clocks HCK and HCKX and a small duty ratio. The clocks DCK and DCKX are sampled by switches 22-1 to 22-4 of a clock sampling switch group 22. Then, switches 23-1 to 23-4 of a sampling switch group 23 are driven by employing the sampled clocks DCK and DCKX as sampling pulses Vh1 to Vh4 and video signals 'video' are sampled in a perfect nonoverlapped sample condition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
