The seal assembly for a rotary compressor consists of a housing (72) containing a rotary seal (73) fixed to a jacket (74) mounted on the compressor shaft (76), and a static seal (71) mounted on the housing, the two seals having facing friction surfaces. The assembly incorporates a system (86, 88, 90) for circulating a fluid for reheating compressible fluid from the compressor leaking between the two seals. The circulating system is located inside the housing and extends at least partly downstream of the seals in the direction of the fluid flow; it includes a reheating channel (86) and a heat exchange wall (88) with ribs (90), and the reheating fluid is oil.
