Compressing digital audio files by storing low quality audio file and a second audio properties file

A method for storing digital audio in magnetic memory, from a commercial digital audio product having an identification code on its packing, carried out in a digital audio storage, selection and playback device containing microprocessor based circuit components, an element for inputting identification codes, commercial digital audio product reader and a diskette drive is described. The method comprises a step (a) of converting to computing format and compressing digital audio files by means of a software in a separate equipment, resulting from this conversion and compression a loss of audio properties which result in a loss of audio quality when submitting it to an inverse process of sound playback, further carrying out the steps (b) generation of a digital audio file of audio properties, being function of the selected compression format, and (c) loading of the properties file and the compressed file in at least one element of magnetic memory of the device, being the digital audio properties file able to recover the lost audio properties in simultaneous playback of analog audio of the properties file and the compressed file.
