An electrical power outlet (10) includes a socket portion (12) arranged to receive an electrical plug (13), a switching device (14), a first actuator (18) operatively associated with the socket portion (12) and with the switching device (14), and a second actuator (54) operatively associated with the socket portion (12) and with the switching device (14). The first actuator (18) is arranged to prevent the switching device (14) from moving to an on state when a plug (13) is not received in the socket portion (12). The second actuator (54) is movable between an unlocked position wherein a plug (13) is removable from the socket portion (12) and a locked position wherein a plug (12) is not removable from the socket portion (12). The switching device (14) cooperates with the second actuator (54) so as to cause the second actuator (54) to move to the locked position when the switching device (14) moves to the on state.
