The culture medium differential for the deteccao and definition of yeast Yarrowia lipolytica in less than 24 hours

The differential culture based detection of Yarrowia lipolytica yeast comprises identification to reduce detection time to below 24 hours. The culture medium is peptone 5, yeast extract 5 glucose 0.5 and agar 20 g/litre respectively, with 10 mM of tyrosine and 1mM of Mn2+. The tyrosine is converted into chestnut-yellow pigment which becomes visible in or after 12 hours, as a characteristic of the yeast.
