The invention relates to an installation for build-up welding of worn rails, especially meant for reworking railway lines, tramway lines or rail tracks of cranes and bridge cranes. According to the invention, the installation comprises a mobile carriage (1) movable along some roller tracks (3) by means of an actuating mechanism (2). An electronic device (42) for the automatic adjustment of the working parameters, a control unit (5) and a wire unwinder (4), as well as a device (S) for the positioning and continuous adjustment of the welding tip are mounted on the mobile carriage (1), said device (S) comprising a frame (8) which may be positioned horizontally and which supports some upper and lower arms (22 and 24) whereon the welding tip, a proximity detector (43) and a shoe (34) for supporting the molten metal bar and for tracing the rolling track (3) to be reworked, are placed, said shoe (34) also ensuring the positioning of the welding tip.
