Disclosed are compounds of formula (I) or (II) wherein A is X or Y, X is (a), Y is (b); R 1, R 2, R 3, R 4 and R 5 each independently represent hydrogen, and a C 1 -C 6 alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group; n is 0 in the case of derivatives of formula (I) and in the case of formula (II) n is 0, 1, 2 or 3. Pharmaceutical preparations containing these compounds are suitable for the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of epilepsy and other neurological disorders.
