The object is secured to the vehicle carcass (7) using a link (5) and a device (6) for fixing the link in a position where its pivot axis is at an angle to the horizontal plane of the vehicle floor and a perpendicular vertical planes corresponding to the travelling direction and cross-direction of the vehicle. A device (9) is provided for connecting the object to the link in order to enable it to be pivoted about the link pivot axis.
