A large, given number of DC current generators (13:1-13n) are coupled in series amongst themselves in order to generate an adapted high DC voltage. Each DC current generator cooperates with a protective circuit (40:2) so that the generator is bypassed if it becomes damaged. The arrangement (1) comprises a drive mechanism (11) for a rotary shaft (11a), a gear mechanism (12) for transmitting the rotary force to a third mechanism (13) that converts this force into electrical energy (14a, 14b). The gear mechanism transmits a rotary force from one shaft to a number of output shafts (12:1-12:n) cooperating with DC current generators.
