The bale press has a brake shield (9) mounted before end faces of a trolley (3), and extending transverse to a stand guide (4). A support flap (11) acts together with a seating rail, and is located below a horizontal pivoting axis of the shield. The trolley has a brake shoe (14) located below a brake rail (15), where the vertical distance between the shoe and brake rail is less than the length difference between the flap and a gap. -
