Procedure velocimetry image correlation of particles smaller than the size of the query window spatial resolution. The present invention is a modification of the usual equipment particle image velocimetry (PIV or Particle Image Velocimetry). This modification is a novel method of extracting information of the displacement field from the particle image. The problem solved this new procedure is to obtain lower spatial resolutions window interrogation PIV correlation (observable effect in Figure 3, series 4 -windows interrogation pixels- 64). The new procedure can be applied to any team PIV by numerical correlation. Accordingly, its applicability covers all areas in which the usual PIV is employed (such as the aeronautical, naval, environment, civil and mechanical engineering, chemical, etc.)
