The arrangement has a metal round plug pin (1) for plugging into a plug housing and axially fixed in the housing so as to protrude from its front. The pin has a sprung hook element that snaps into a reverse cut in a pin bore when the pin is inserted into the bore and a non-circular guide section that ensures correct orientation and butts against a stop. The hook element is formed by two lugs (13) that are laterally displaced to snap in behind the reverse cut in the pin bore when the pin is inserted into the housing. An Independent claim is also included for a round plug pin and for a plug housing.
