Distillation apparatus for purifying water in e.g. industrial effluent, contains separator with tabular body for removing liquid and particles from water vapor

The separator (1) has a vapor inlet and outlet (4, 5) on opposite sides, and containing a suspended tabular body (3) pointing away from the inlet. The tabular body has a channel (6) along the bottom, linked to a discharge tube (7) for removing liquid and adhered particles via a purging device (8). An apparatus for purifying a liquid in vapor form comprises a circuit containing an evaporation chamber linked to a liquid storage vessel, for generating a given flow of water vapor optionally accelerated by a blower. The vapor is supplied to a separator, from where it is supplied with the aid of a suction device to a cooler, condenser or the surrounding atmosphere. A vessel is provided for collecting residual substances not evaporated in the evaporation chamber. A conventional vapor purification device may optionally be present too. The separator has a closed volume (2) with a vapor inlet and outlet on opposite sides, and containing a suspended tabular body pointing away from the inlet. The tabular body has a channel along the bottom, linked to a discharge tube for directing liquid and particles adhered to the body down to the bottom of the closed volume, from where they are removed via a purging device.
